Payroll Team Leader

At Huntress - Maidstone, we are seeking an experienced Payroll Team Leader to join our team. As a key member of our payroll department, you will be responsible for leading the payroll team in the day-to-day payroll operations, ensuring the accurate and efficient processing of payroll for all employees.
Key Responsibilities:- Supervise and lead a team of payroll administrators, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure the successful processing of payroll.
- Oversee the accurate and timely processing of payroll, including salary, overtime, bonuses, deductions, and benefits, ensuring compliance with company policies and statutory requirements.
- Manage payroll data entry, calculations, and reconciliation, ensuring all information is up-to-date and accurate.
- Handle complex payroll queries and escalations, providing solutions and ensuring employee satisfaction.
- Collaborate with HR and Finance departments to maintain employee records and resolve payroll discrepancies.
- Assist in the preparation of payroll reports for management and support internal/external audits.
- Implement process improvements to enhance payroll efficiency and accuracy.
- Stay updated on payroll legislation and ensure the team adheres to changes in tax laws and regulations.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in payroll administration, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory/leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of payroll systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Solid understanding of payroll processes, tax laws, and statutory requirements.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to mentor and develop a team.
- Exceptional attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or equivalent certification is an advantage.
