Senior Children's Support Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Senior Children's Support Worker to join our team at a modern residential children's home in Exeter. As a Senior Children's Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting young people between the ages of 8-16 with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and challenging behaviours.

Our ideal candidate will be committed, motivated, and passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people. You will work in a busy, ever-changing environment, providing support and guidance to help young people develop socially, emotionally, and behaviourally in a safe and caring setting.

As a Senior Children's Support Worker, you will be responsible for leading by example, mentoring and supporting newer staff members, and encouraging young people to take responsibility for their own lives. You will also be expected to maintain a safe environment, protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare, and provide support for their independence and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead by example and support the management team to run the shift
  • Mentor and support newer staff members
  • Encourage young people to take responsibility for their own lives

  • Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare
  • Provide support for their independence and well-being
Requirements:
  • Experience as a Children's Support Worker or with Young People is essential
  • Experience within another healthcare or social care setting is essential
  • Level 3 NVQ in Children & Young People
