Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Database Systems Manager to join our team at Shared Services Connected Ltd. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining database systems in both Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle database architecture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement database systems to ensure data governance policies and procedures are enforced.
  • Manage and monitor database security, access controls, and backups to safeguard data.
  • Provide guidance on the installation, configuration, and optimization of server hardware, storage, and software.
  • Manage database systems to ensure capacity, availability, and integrity requirements are met.
  • Plan and execute database upgrades, patches, and migrations.
  • Manage database system availability across multiple data centers.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in database systems management.
  • Expert knowledge of Oracle DBA, Microsoft SQL Server, High Availability, Capacity, Backup, and DR management.
  • Knowledge of database system security features and best practices.
  • Strong T-SQL and PL/SQL programming skills.
  • Proficient in creating high and low-level documentation.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience working in complex MOD secure environments.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Server and Redhat Linux Operating System.
  • Accreditation to technical level or equivalent experience essential.
