Job Title: National Trading Team Leader 8 Month FTC

We are seeking a strong leader to join our National Trading Team in Arch on a maternity cover basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and leading a team to deliver exceptional results, aligning with Arch values and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to the success of the National Trading Team by working collaboratively with the management team to achieve team objectives and strategy.
  • Lead an effective, inclusive, and stable team, ensuring they deliver their required outputs and adhere to Arch guidelines.
  • Participate in the recruitment process, recruiting additional team members when necessary, and collaborating with stakeholders as required.
  • Manage team performance, identifying underperformance quickly and addressing it effectively, in accordance with Arch guidelines.
  • Manage workflow, ensuring the successful delivery of our service strategy, required SLAs, and quality standards.
  • Ensure personal and team adoption of company and National Trading Team prescribed processes and practices.
  • Review team processes, collect feedback, and work collaboratively to identify solutions to remove blockers and improve efficiency.
  • Achieve personal and team targets by managing and operating to Key Performance Indicators and strategic direction.
  • Enhance Arch's standing nationally by establishing and maintaining strong relationships with colleagues and staff at key brokers.
  • Act as the principle escalation point for brokers, resolving escalated matters through strong ownership, effective delegation, and a customer-focused approach.
  • Maintain and enhance personal knowledge of relevant technical issues, supporting team members to achieve the same.
  • Contribute to the technical knowledge of the Company by feeding back market intelligence to the National Trading Team Underwriting Manager and wider team.
  • Work collaboratively with other parts of the organisation, especially the regions, claims, and survey teams, as required.
Requirements and Skills:
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Underwriting required.
  • Experience in effective line management desirable.
  • Collaborative and constructive workplace behaviours.
  • Ability to negotiate flexibly and appropriately.
  • Demonstrates a range of influencing and negotiation approaches.
  • Consistent achieving of goals and objectives.
  • Experience working across functions/matrix organisation to collaborate and build strong relationships.
  • Operational effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Clear and effective communication.
