Job Description: We're seeking a talented Legal Counsel to support our Senior Legal Counsel (Commercial Specialty) and wider legal team in providing high-quality, commercially focused legal services to our UK and Irish commercial business units. As a key member of our UK and Irish hub legal team, you'll work closely with business colleagues, senior members of commercial and legal teams, and the EU Legal Leadership team.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Partner with UK & Ireland commercial business units to provide pragmatic legal advice.
  • Collaborate with senior members of business and legal teams, as well as local Leadership Teams, with support from the wider UK legal team.
  • Support customer-facing teams, including Pharmacy, Wholesalers, Dispensing Doctors, Hospitals, OTC, and NHS procurement and Tendering.
  • Partner with business colleagues on initiatives to develop new ways of building relationships and business opportunities with customers, focusing on pharmacy customers.
  • Draft, negotiate, and advise on contractual arrangements with customers and third parties.
  • Provide contract law and strategic advice on various contract categories, including marketing and supply, Wholesaler, service agreements, consultancy agreements, patient support programs, and NHS collaborative working agreements.
  • Work with NHS Tendering teams to understand changes to procurement processes and contracts.
  • Support Senior lawyers in general procurement projects and contracts.
  • Anticipate internal and external business challenges and recommend process and service improvements.
  • Manage legal risk to support commercial success.
  • Support external and internal project teams to achieve milestones and objectives.

Requirements:



  • Law degree
  • Post-qualification Law experience within the UK of circa 3 year PQE (other levels of qualification will be considered depending on experience)
  • Strong technical contract law knowledge with experience of negotiating commercial contracts is key
  • A commercial mindset, with a desire to make a difference and work with senior members of commercial and legal teams
  • A desire to work as part of a close-knit team and support other legal team members as and when required
