Job Description:
Countrystyle Recycling is seeking an experienced Team Leader to oversee daily operations and ensure productivity and quality KPIs are met. As a trusted provider of commercial waste disposal, management, and recycling services in Kent, London, and the South East, we help businesses reduce their environmental impact while lowering waste disposal costs.

About the Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing staff deployment, equipment maintenance, and health and safety standards. This is a key position within our organization, requiring strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively with a team.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Ensure efficient service organization and staffing levels.
  2. Monitor Whitespace/IT systems and address performance issues.
  3. Respond to breakdowns and liaise with the fleet manager.
  4. Report service issues to the Operations Manager.
  5. Ensure staff training and safe equipment operation.
  6. Monitor attendance, timekeeping, and performance.
  7. Manage holidays to maintain service.
  8. Enforce performance management.
  9. Submit overtime claims for authorization.
  10. Conduct 5% service quality checks.
  11. Manage absence reviews, disciplinary actions, and grievances per policy.
  12. Oversee PPE allocation and consult the Operations Manager as needed.
  13. Ensure PPM compliance with the Fleet Manager;
  14. Adhere to Health, Safety, HR, Quality, and Environmental policies.
  15. Promote a safety culture and ensure staff follow legal and company safety requirements.

Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • A Class 2 HGV license with up-to-date driver CPC.
  • Previous supervisory management experience in waste management services, particularly in local authorities.
  • Knowledge of environmental service vehicles and their maintenance practices.
  • Previous experience with service-specific IT platforms.
  • Strong people management skills and the ability to manage client relations.
