Job Title: Nursery Assistant

Job Summary: We are seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Nursery Assistant to join our team at Little Owls nurseries. As a Nursery Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and education for children, while supporting families and contributing to the overall success of our nurseries.

About the Role: As a Nursery Assistant, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing high-quality care and education for all children and supporting families
  • Observing and monitoring children's development, and contributing to reports of their progress
  • Supporting the development of children with special educational needs and disabilities
  • Completing risk assessments and participating in training and development activities
  • Working collaboratively with the management team and other staff to ensure the smooth running of the nursery
  • Providing a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow
  • Supporting the implementation of the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum
  • Developing and maintaining positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues
  • Participating in staff meetings and contributing to the development of the nursery
  • Continuously developing your skills and knowledge to meet the needs of the nursery and its children

Requirements: To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of a relevant Level 2 qualification in childcare
  • GCSE Maths and English or equivalent
  • Knowledge of current legislation, policy, and guidance relating to the work of Sure Start Children's Centres
  • Experience of working with children and/or families
  • Experience of work in a nursery or childcare environment
  • Ability to safeguard children and support them to develop their resilience
  • Ability to motivate children through positive role modelling
  • Ability to write reports and plans to document children's learning, development, and wellbeing
  • Ability to observe, record, and monitor children's development
  • A flexible approach to working hours
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development
