Job Summary:
Rise Resourcing is seeking an experienced Buying Manager to join our client's expanding Food to Go team in their London head office function. As a key member of the buying team, you will be responsible for delivering commercially focused product ranges that meet both departmental and company targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of buyers to manage their individual categories and drive sales growth.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure the best possible contracts and terms.
- Source new suppliers and negotiate best cost prices to meet business objectives.
- Analyse sales figures to plan successful future product lines and promotions.
- Plan and deliver specific promotions and events within the Food to Go department.
- Attend trade shows and supplier markets to stay up-to-date with industry trends.
- Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to ensure the best possible outcomes.
- Plan and forecast ahead 6-12 month future strategies to drive business growth.
- Monitor competitor and price analysis to stay ahead in the market.
- Present reports, figures, and trend information to the senior management team.
- Develop the buying team to ensure they fulfill their individual career potential.
Requirements:
- Proven previous experience as a buying or category manager within a fast-moving FMCG environment, preferably in the food sector.
- Ability to influence and negotiate effectively with suppliers and stakeholders.
- Able to adapt swiftly in a fast-paced market and make informed decisions.
- Strong leadership skills to lead and motivate a team of buyers.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively at all levels.
- Good working knowledge of budgets and managing conflicting projects.
- Excellent understanding of all MS Office products.
