About the Role

As a Power and Cooling Engineer with BT Group, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our networks. You will work closely with experienced teams to support the power systems and cooling equipment that keep our networks running 24/7, 365 days a year.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to out-of-hours callouts as part of our Formal On Call Framework to support 24x7 service as needed by the business.
  • Utilize your expertise in cooling and refrigeration systems to install, maintain, and repair chilling equipment, including Adiabatic and F-Gas systems.
  • Work with mechanical systems associated with LV and Chiller Plant to ensure optimal performance.
  • Drive your own performance to contribute to wider team measures and lead by example in sharing knowledge and supporting new individuals.
  • Coach, lead, and mentor others in a supervisory role, upholding BT values and living by example throughout your career with us.
Requirements
  • Electrical competency, City & Guilds 2360 parts 1+2 or equivalent NVQ.
  • BTEC Electrical Engineering Level 3/HNC/HND/MOET Level 3/ET Level 3.
  • Inspection, Testing, and Verification (C&G 2392-10).
  • Preferred experience/qualifications: experience with Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS), repairing and maintaining Air Conditioning Split systems, working with DC power systems, and coaching/mentoring/supervisory experience.
Skills
  • Self-starting: the ability to work autonomously without supervision.
  • Coaching: proactively shares knowledge with others.
  • ICT Literacy: confident user of MS Office suite.
