Job Description

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a 'Good' Ofsted-rated school in North London. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide one-on-one support to students with SEN in Year 1, assisting with their educational and personal development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • **Provide Individualized Support:** Assist students with SEN in Year 1, tailoring support to meet their unique needs and abilities.
  • **Collaborate with Teachers:** Work closely with class teachers to deliver engaging and inclusive lessons, ensuring students with SEN receive the support they need to succeed.
  • **Foster a Supportive Environment:** Create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment, promoting independence, confidence, and social skills in students with SEN.
  • **Collaborate with Colleagues:** Work with external professionals and colleagues to implement tailored support plans for students with SEN, ensuring comprehensive assessments and reports.
  • **Maintain Accurate Records:** Keep accurate records of student progress and behavior, contributing to comprehensive assessments and reports.

Requirements:

  • **Experience:** Previous experience working as a Year 1 Teaching Assistant, preferably with SEN experience.
  • **Passion for Working with Children:** A genuine passion for working with children and young people, with a patient and empathetic approach.
  • **Excellent Communication Skills:** Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/carers.
  • **Flexibility and Adaptability:** Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to thrive in different educational settings.
  • **Relevant Qualifications:** Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools) are desirable but not essential.
