Job Description

Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at GSL Education in Barnet. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs, providing tailored support to help them achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one support to students with special educational needs, including academic assistance, behavioral support, and personal care.
  • Collaborate with teachers and SENCO to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and adapt learning materials to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Foster a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment where every student feels valued, supported, and empowered to succeed.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working with children with special educational needs is preferred but not essential – a compassionate attitude and willingness to learn are essential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience in supporting students facing a range of challenges.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in SEN education are advantageous but not required.
