Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Development Underwriter to join our team at The Travelers Companies, Inc. This role will involve underwriting and assessing risk to maximize business growth and profitability for allocated broker panels. Key Responsibilities

- Underwrite and assess risk to maximize business growth and profitability for allocated broker panels
- Make prompt, sound decisions within underwriting authority and based on appropriate underwriting information
- Negotiate terms and conditions consistent with underwriting requirements and service
- Understand and execute Travelers' underwriting strategies and principles to produce budgeted results

Requirements

- Degree education preferred
- Proven experience in underwriting, including identifying and developing new business opportunities
- General knowledge of the local insurance marketplace
- General knowledge of organisational and regulatory rules, policies, procedures and effectively employs that knowledge in day to day work activities

What We Offer

- Private Medical Insurance: On commencement of employment, you are eligible for single cover provided by Travelers, with the option to add cover for your dependents, at your expense through payroll deduction
- Retirement: Travelers will make a core contribution of a percentage of salary to your Pension Plan. Additionally, if you decide to contribute to the plan, you will receive an increased company contribution
- Holiday Entitlement: Start your career at Travelers with a minimum of 25 days holiday entitlement annually, plus the opportunity to purchase additional days to allow for up to a total of 35 holidays per year
