Job Title: Senior Management Accountant

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Management Accountant to join our UK & I Asset Management department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering financial support services under Management Service Agreements (MSAs) across multiple clients owning renewable assets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the financial obligations for a portfolio of clients, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of financial reports and statements.
  • Support the audit process across multiple portfolios of clients, ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Supervise and review the team's preparation of monthly management accounts, identifying and resolving any issues or problems that arise.
  • Deliver periodic cashflow forecasts and distribution calculations, with clear bridge analysis, to support business decision-making.
  • Prepare quarterly board reports and present finance sections at board meetings, ensuring effective communication of financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Manage bank compliance model preparation and loan covenant calculations, interest and principal repayments, and other banking requirements.
  • Review VAT returns for all asset managed entities before submission, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Oversee the preparation of statutory accounts, ensuring consistency, quality, and compliance with applicable accounting standards (FRS101, FRS102, IFRS) and Companies Acts for all asset managed entities.
  • Prepare consolidated annual accounts with applicable accounting standards, featuring multiple operational entities and externally financed holding companies, which include complex accounting treatments.
  • Onboard new projects into the asset management portfolio, ensuring a smooth transition and effective integration into existing processes.
  • Support continuous improvements to accounting and reporting processes, working closely with the wider Finance and ERP Development teams.
  • Assist with contract review for financial obligations, reviewing calculations and preparing Contract Summaries as needed.
Requirements:
  • Strong accounting knowledge and understanding of both management and statutory accounting.
  • Excellent technical accounting skills, with the ability to scrutinize and analyze numbers to identify errors and variance analysis.
  • Ability to articulate financial information to non-financial specialists, with a proactive and 'can-do' attitude.
  • Quick learner, able to grasp the needs of the department with minimum supervision.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and accountancy systems skills, with experience of monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounting routines within a commercial organization.
  • Experience in communicating with non-financial internal stakeholders, with a focus on continuous improvement of reporting and analysis.
  • Team management experience, with a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) qualification.
