Role Overview

As a Residential Support Worker, you will be responsible for delivering 24/7 care to children and young people with complex emotional and social needs. This role requires a nurturing approach, promoting the development of skills and positive choices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver responsive care and support to children and young people, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.
  • Build positive relationships with children and young people, supporting them during emergencies and maintaining a safe living environment.
  • Draft, update, and follow care plans, administer medication, and ensure access to healthcare.
  • Arrange and attend appointments, transport children, and encourage community involvement.
  • Liaise with families, professionals, and agencies, advocating for the children's needs.

Requirements

  • Must be 21+ and pass a DBS check due to safeguarding responsibilities.
  • Hold a driver's license with access to own vehicle.
  • Willingness to work towards Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (England) or equivalent, if not already completed.
  • Willingness to undertake further training.
  • Experience of working with vulnerable children and their families.
  • Ability to establish good working relationships with children and young people based on respect and openness.
