About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Solutions Architect to join our team in Germany. As a Cloud Solutions Architect, you will be responsible for leading the technical AWS GTM strategy for Mainframe workloads in Germany. Your primary objective will be to create scaled GTM motions for AWS to expand adoption of these services into new or existing customer portfolios.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with your GTM colleagues to provide technical insights into GTM strategy and support field marketing to execute local technical events, campaigns, and customer engagements.
  • Act as a thought leader sharing best practices through forums such as AWS blogs, whitepapers, reference architectures and public-speaking events such as AWS Summit, AWS re: Invent, etc.
  • Guide and Support an AWS internal community of technical subject matter experts aligned to your customers. Create field enablement materials for the broader SA population to help them understand how to integrate new AWS solutions into customer architectures.
Requirements
  • 7+ years design/implementation/consulting experience of distributed applications
  • 5+ years management of technical, customer facing resources
  • Extensive experience with mainframe, non-x86 legacy systems and with technologies such as COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, IMS Assembler, PL/I, Java, REXX, flat/sequential files, GDGs, and VSAM for IBM-z/OS.
  • Knowledge and experience with Mid-range systems migrations especially on IBM I or Power series (CL, RPG, DB400/DB2 on AS400)
  • Experience migrating workloads from mainframe and non-x86 legacy systems to distributed x86 infrastructures on-premises or in the Cloud.
  • Familiarity with common enterprise services and working knowledge of software development tools and methodologies.
  • Experience working within software development or Internet-related industries.
  • AWS Solution Architecture certification or relevant cloud expertise.
  • Computer Science/relevant degree and/or experience highly desired.
