Solutions Architect Job Description

At Alibaba Cloud, we are seeking a highly skilled Solutions Architect to join our international business division. As a key pre-sales technical position, you will play a crucial role in developing solutions and helping customers and partners to develop their applications and services on our cloud platform.

Responsibilities:
  • Market Insights & Competitive Analysis
    • Output market insight analysis reports of segmented fields based on demand information, including market development trends, market space, core scenarios, and pain points.
    • Collect competitive information and provide differentiated competitive solutions through the analysis of strategies and scenarios of competing pairs in competitive projects.
  • Business Opportunity Identification & Pre-sales Guidance
    • Responsible for pre-sales guidance of key decision makers of the customer, using their language to start a dialog, gain trust, explore the real needs of the customer, and form effective business opportunities.
    • Deeply explore the customer's business technology status and development trend, and establish complete and accurate customer business technology documentation.
  • Solution Design & Promotion
    • Produce targeted solutions according to customer needs, developing correct product selection strategies, POC test strike strategies, bidding & bid strategies, product configuration strategies, and achieving contract signing.
    • Promote the incubation and replication of public cloud solutions in segmented fields.
    • Timely identify and deal with risks of the technology and project during the solution landing process, collaborating with the product team and delivery team for normal fulfillment, and achieving revenue conversion.
  • Capability Accumulation & Empowerment
    • Accumulate knowledge documentation, such as universal cloud architecture templates, best practices, and cases for the segmented fields/scenarios.
    • Provide presentations, evangelism, and empowerment training for sales teams and eco-partners.
  • Product Requirements & Defect Feedback
    • Abstract and summarize product requirements and defects in segmented fields, promoting product improvement, new product projects, and major functions launch, enhancing product competitiveness.
Requirements:
  • A background in IT, computer science, and/or cloud computing with a good understanding of networking, servers, storage systems, enterprise applications, and the cloud.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience working and consulting on enterprise architecture design and a strong understanding of customer needs and requirements.
  • Expert knowledge and understanding of cloud architecture design and familiarity with architecture methodology and practice in internet-based applications/websites.
  • Experience with procedures and tools for application migration and cloud/virtualization/container solutions for enterprise customers.
  • Familiarity and hands-on experience with one of the public Clouds covering IaaS and PaaS services.
  • Experience with one of the Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) technologies.
  • Experience with Container/K8S and Serverless services and implementation, experience with SOA architecture design.
  • Experience with RDS like MySQL or PostgreSQL or others, and experience with NoSQL like Redis or MongoDB or others.
  • Experience with BigData technologies like Hadoop ecosystem is a plus.
  • Excellent writing, proof-reading, and editing skills, able to create documentation that can express cloud architectures using text and diagrams.
  • Able to work under high pressure, a quick learner with a passion for cloud technology, able to think strategically about businesses, products, and technical challenges.
  • Good communication skills, a good team player, and a professional attitude to work.
  • Candidate who has professional Cloud Certificate from Alibaba Cloud or other Cloud vendors is preferred.
