About the Role

As a Cloud Solutions Architect at Alibaba Cloud, you will play a key role in developing solutions that drive business growth and innovation for our customers. This is a challenging and rewarding position that requires a strong understanding of cloud architecture, enterprise technology, and customer needs.

Key Responsibilities

Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT, computer science, and/or cloud computing, with a good understanding of networking, servers, storage systems, enterprise applications, and the cloud. They will be responsible for:

Market Insights & Competitive Analysis
  • Output market insight analysis reports of segmented fields based on demand information such as market development trends, market space, core scenarios, and pain points in the segmented fields.
  • Collect competitive information and provide differentiated competitive solutions through the analysis of strategies and scenarios of competing pairs in competitive projects.
Business Opportunity Identification & Pre-sales Guidance
  • Responsible for the pre-sales guidance of key decision makers of the customer, using the customer's language to start a dialog, gain trust, explore the real needs of the customer, and form effective business opportunities.
  • Deeply explore the customer's business technology status and development trend, and establish complete and accurate customer business technology documentation.
Solution Design & Promotion
  • Produce targeted solutions according to customer needs, in the project, develop correct product selection strategy, POC test strike strategy, bidding & bid strategies, product configuration strategy, etc., achieve contract signing, and continuously ensure the increase of Alibaba Cloud's market share in this customer.
  • Promote the incubation and replication of public cloud solutions in segmented fields.
  • Timely identify and deal with risks of the technology and project during the solution landing process, collaborate with the product team and delivery team for normal fulfillment, and achieve revenue conversion.
Capability Accumulation & Empowerment
  • Accumulate knowledge documentation such as universal cloud architecture templates, best practices, and cases for the segmented fields/scenarios.
  • Provide the presentations, evangelism, and empowerment training for sales teams and eco-partners.
Product Requirements & Defect Feedback
  • Abstract and summarize product requirements and defects in segmented fields, promote product improvement, new product projects, and major functions launch, enhance product competitiveness.
Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • A background in IT, computer science, and/or cloud computing with a good understanding of networking, servers, storage systems, enterprise applications, and the cloud.
  • A minimum of 5 years experience working and consulting on enterprise architecture design and has a strong understanding of customer needs and requirements.
  • Expert knowledge and understanding of cloud architecture design and familiar with architecture methodology and practice in internet-based applications/websites.
  • Must also be experienced with procedures and tools for application migration and cloud/virtualization/container solutions for enterprise customers.
  • Familiar and hand-on experience with one of the public Clouds covering IaaS and PaaS services.
  • Experience with one of the Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) technologies.
  • Experience with Container/K8S and Serverless services and implementation, experience with SOA architecture design.
  • Experience with RDS like MySQL or PostgreSQL or others, and experienced with NoSQL like Redis or MongoDB or others;
  • Experience with BigData technologies like Hadoop eco-system is a plus.
  • Excellent writing, proof-reading, and editing skills. Able to create documentation that can express cloud architectures using text and diagrams.
  • Able to work under high pressure, a quick learner with a passion for cloud technology. Able to think strategically about businesses, products, and technical challenges.
  • Good communication skills, a good team player, and has a professional attitude to work.
  • ※ Candidate who has professional Cloud Certificate from Alibaba Cloud or other Cloud vendors is preferred.
