Job Overview:

The role of a Classroom Assistant in a Trauma-Informed School is to provide essential support to students who have experienced trauma and adverse childhood experiences (ACE). As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the teaching staff to create a safe and nurturing environment that promotes emotional regulation, mental health, and educational engagement.

About the Role:

  • Provide classroom support to students with Social Emotional Mental Health needs
  • Assist with therapeutic approaches to behavior management and teaching-learning strategies
  • Work with students from Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 4, offering a full curriculum and pastoral care

Your Skills and Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teaching Assistant or Residential Support Worker with experience working with SEMH, autism, ADHD, or other needs
  • Excellent communication skills to hold student attention and focus
  • Able to promote happiness, self-reliance, and positive interactions
