About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Adult Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team as a Community Mental Health Lead Specialist in the Havering Early Intervention in Psychosis Team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary team providing care to people with first onset psychosis and those potentially at high risk of developing psychotic disorders across Havering.
Job Description
As a Community Mental Health Lead Specialist, you will provide senior medical support to the team, direct input on clinical cases, and guidance and supervision to junior colleagues. You will also work directly with young adult people (and their families), liaise with other external mental health providers, and acute hospitals. Your role will involve participating in the on-call rota, with a frequency of 1:50 and a Category A on-call supplement of 3% of your basic salary.
Key Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to provide care to people with first onset psychosis and those at high risk of developing psychotic disorders.
- Provide senior medical support to the team, including direct input on clinical cases and guidance and supervision to junior colleagues.
- Develop strong links with local services, including Neighbourhood Teams, Primary Care Networks, and third sector resources within Havering.
- Identify people who need Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIP) and EDP Service input, and develop systems to reach out to hard-to-reach communities.
- Liaise with local acute trusts' A&E departments and inpatient wards to continually improve services.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- Full GMC registration with a licence to practice.
- CCT or equivalent qualification.
- Section 12 Approval or eligibility for it.
- Approved Clinician status, or eligibility for it.
- Inclusion in, or eligibility for inclusion in the Specialist Register or within 6 months of obtaining CCST.
Benefits
This is a part-time role, with 5 Programmed Activities (DCC:SPA = 3.5). The salary for this position is estimated to be between £105,504 and £139,882 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, you will also receive a 3% on-call supplement, which will be pro-rata for part-time workers.
