Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Fiscal Technician to join our team at the Bon Air Juvenile Correctional Center. The successful candidate will provide fiscal support by performing accounts payable and processing residents' funds for the business office.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Periodically review, control, and report expenditures to remain within budgeted allocations;
  • Ensure all funds (state, federal, grant, etc.) are expended appropriately and within permissible parameters;
  • Process vendor invoices for payment by matching the vendor invoices with corresponding requisitions, purchase orders, and receiving reports;
  • Maintain outstanding requisition/purchase order files and ensure all procurement documents are maintained in an auditable condition.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Considerable knowledge of procurement practices and procedures;
  • Proficient knowledge of computer applications, including Word and Excel, to create spreadsheets;
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply financial policies and procedures;
  • Ability to provide administrative support and excellent customer service while performing multiple tasks simultaneously;
  • Ability to work independently, set priorities, and meet deadlines;
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions;
  • Ability to interpret and apply policy, rules, and regulations;
  • Ability to reconcile internal fiscal records to external systems.
Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary range of $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience. Additionally, you will receive a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.

About the Job

This is a full-time position working Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. You will be required to work independently and as part of a team to achieve goals and objectives. We offer a dynamic and supportive work environment with opportunities for professional growth and development.
