- Consultant Coordination: Obtain fee proposals, appoint, and coordinate consultant teams such as architects, structural engineers, and other professionals.
- Documentation: Write detailed briefs and scopes of work for consultants and contractors, ensuring clear and comprehensive project documentation.
- Tendering & Contracts: Manage the tendering process, negotiate contracts, and appoint contractors, ensuring the best value and quality.
- Site Management: Conduct regular site inspections, prepare progress reports, and oversee defects inspections and handovers.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all projects comply with Health & Safety and statutory requirements, including building control.
- Budget & Cost Control: Develop, monitor, and control project budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions without compromising quality.
- Hands-On Approach: Be actively involved in all aspects of the project, from documentation to on-site delivery, ensuring projects meet their objectives.
- Multi-Project Management: Efficiently manage multiple projects simultaneously, with budgets ranging from £50k to £500k initially, with exposure to larger and more complex projects.
- Reporting: Provide regular updates to the Head of Property Development on project progress, budget status, and any significant issues.
- Experience: Previous extensive construction project management, with a preference for candidates with retail and leisure experience.
- Skills: Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Technical Knowledge: Proficient in project management software and a solid understanding of construction processes, building regulations, and Health & Safety requirements.
- Flexibility: Willingness to travel nationwide on a regular basis (weekly) as required by project demands.
- Problem Solver: Ability to think on your feet and handle complex situations with ease.
