Exciting Opportunity for a SEN Teacher

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Teacher to join our dynamic school in Bournemouth and Christchurch. As a SEN Teacher, you will work closely with students who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), particularly those with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and tailored lessons to students with SEND and SEMH, adapting your teaching methods to meet individual needs.
  • Build strong relationships with students, encouraging their social and emotional development alongside their academic progress.
  • Collaborate with parents, carers, and other professionals to create and implement effective learning strategies.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to help them achieve their goals.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that promotes respect, understanding, and confidence.
  • Maintain a calm and patient approach, effectively managing any challenging behaviours to create a safe learning environment.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience working with students with SEND and SEMH needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students and collaborate with staff.
  • Patience and calmness in challenging situations with a focus on student well-being.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team to deliver the best outcomes for students.
  • A genuine passion for supporting young people in their educational journey.
