About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced SEN Teacher to join our team at a special school for children aged 5-11 with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health difficulties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lesson Planning: Plan and deliver dynamic lessons that cater to the diverse needs of students with SEN like autism.
  • Individual Support: Provide individualised support and guidance to autistic students, promoting their academic and personal development.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with colleagues and external professionals to create comprehensive support plans for students with SEN.
  • Progress Tracking: Maintain accurate records of student progress and development, ensuring that all necessary documentation is up-to-date.
  • Relationship Building: Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and carers, promoting effective communication and collaboration.
  • Overcoming Challenges: Help students overcome their social, emotional, and mental difficulties.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent qualification in SEN education.
  • Previous experience of working in a SEN school setting.
  • Strong understanding of different SEN needs and effective strategies for supporting students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/carers.
  • Dedication to promoting inclusion and equality in education.
