Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join our team at Academics Ltd. As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Autism, Speech and Language needs, and other Special Educational Needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the class teacher in providing a supportive learning environment for students with Autism and Speech and Language needs.
  • Provide behaviour and pastoral support to students, promoting positive relationships and a safe learning environment.
  • Work collaboratively with therapists, teachers, and other professionals to deliver targeted interventions and support students' learning and development.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, ensuring a high level of communication and collaboration.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and other support plans.
  • Provide personal care support to students, as required.
  • Attend staff meetings and participate in ongoing professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • Graduate or equivalent qualification in a relevant field (e.g., Education, Psychology, Speech and Language Therapy).
  • Experience working with students with Autism and Speech and Language needs, or a strong desire to work in this field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach.
  • Willingness to undergo training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
