Job Title: Special Needs Teaching Assistant - Autism Support

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join our team at Academics Ltd. As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Autism and Speech Language needs.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will work closely with our experienced teaching staff, therapists, and support staff to deliver specific interventions that aim to boost students' learning, development, and language acquisition.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the class teacher in providing the learning experience of students
  • Behaviour and pastoral support
  • Take an active role in forward planning with therapists
  • Ability to build robust and effective relationships with students
  • Practical approach to meet the individual needs of students
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Caring, compassionate, and a good listener
  • Willing to work 1:1 and in small groups with students
  • Ensure safeguarding of students, in line with procedures
  • Personal care support
  • Attend staff meetings and complete appropriate CPD
Requirements:

We are looking for a passionate and committed individual who is interested in working with children with SEN. Experience is not required, but candidates should demonstrate an interest in supporting students with Autism and Speech Language needs.

What We Offer:

Excellent on-site training, support, and CPD is provided to ensure safeguarding of all students. We offer a competitive rate of £80-£85 per day, Monday to Friday, 8.30am-3.30pm, PAYE, term time only.

Candidates registering with Academics Ltd will need to have or apply for an Enhanced DBS and/or overseas police check where appropriate.
