Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated General Practitioner to join our team at Greenmoss Medical Centre in Scholar Green. As a GP Partner, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our practice.

Main Duties
  • Provide a range of General Practice consultations, telephone calls, home visits, urgent and non-urgent appointments to patients.
  • Assist in the development of the practice's healthcare services for a diverse patient list.
  • Work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team of GPs, nurses, and other clinicians to deliver excellent clinical care.
  • Prescribe medication adhering to local and national guidance.
  • Effectively manage patient long-term conditions.
  • Process referrals, repeat prescriptions requests, and other associated administrative tasks in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records in accordance with good practice, policy, and guidance.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, accepting an equal share of the practice workload.
  • Adhere to best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and audit processes.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Contribute to the successful implementation of continuous improvement, quality initiatives, clinical governance, staff development, financial, and HR management within the practice.
  • Accept delegated responsibility for a specific area (or areas) of QOF.
  • Participate in the review of significant or near-miss events.
  • Attend and contribute effectively to practice meetings, as required.
  • Prepare and complete the revalidation process.
  • Commit to self-learning and instil the ethos of continuing professional development across the practice team.
  • Support the Partners in achieving the strategic aims of the practice, making recommendations to enhance income and reduce expenditure.
  • Review and adhere to practice protocols and policies at all times.
  • Encourage collaborative working, liaising with all staff regularly.
Health and Safety
  • Use personal security systems within the workplace.
  • Maintain awareness of infection control standards and good practice guidelines. Provide appropriate advice and guidance.
  • Provide advice on the correct and safe management of the specimens process, including collection, labelling, handling, use of correct containers, storage, and transport arrangements.
  • Correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE) in both routine and extraordinary circumstances.
  • Cleanliness of own work area and hand hygiene.
  • Managing directly all incidents of accidental exposure.
  • Safe use of sharps, storage, and disposal.
  • Demonstrate due regard for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and adults.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Qualified GP.
  • Evidence of annual appraisal and revalidation.
  • Vocational training certificate.
  • General Practitioner (Certificate of completion of training).
  • Full GMC registration.
  • National performers list registration.
  • Appropriate defense indemnity (MPS/MDU).
  • Eligibility to practice in the UK independently.
