Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering the echo service with the cardiology department at North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust. This will involve working alongside a team of experienced professionals to perform transthoracic echocardiograms, stress and transoesophageal echocardiograms, and other complex cardiac procedures.

The individual will be expected to maintain high standards of technical competency and accuracy in their work, adhering to BSE guidelines and departmental local standards. They will also be responsible for providing structured training to junior cardiac physiologists and doctors, with a view to their subsequent BSE accreditation.

Additionally, the successful candidate will be required to participate in the local echo MDT discussions, assist clinicians in running advanced echo services, and contribute to the development of clinical practice through clinical audit.

Key Skills and Qualifications
  • BSc Clinical Physiology or equivalent Science subject
  • Registered or qualify for registration with RCC
  • Ability to work and interact as part of a team, with supervision of junior staff
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to process and communicate complex information
  • Possession of audit process knowledge and clinical governance processes
Working Environment

The successful candidate will be working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with a focus on delivering high-quality patient care. They will be expected to work calmly under pressure, maintaining a flexible approach and adapting to changing circumstances.

The individual will be required to work closely with medical staff to assist patient management, and will be expected to maintain accurate records and outcomes in our reporting system and patient electronic record.
