Job Description

The Growth Company's Business Growth Hub is seeking a highly skilled Stakeholder Account Manager to lead the relationship between the Local Authority and the Business Growth Hub. This role requires a deep understanding of the business base and local priorities to ensure delivery has the greatest economic impact.

The successful candidate will work in partnership with colleagues from the Business Growth Hub Specialist Services and Local Authorities to ensure business support is inclusive, place-based, and matches the ambitions of the specific Local Authority.

The Business Growth Hub is a community of specialists with a passion to help businesses across Greater Manchester realise their ambitions. Since 2011, the Hub has supported over 15,000 businesses, providing finance guidance, creating international links, and paving the way for innovation and people development across the region.

This role is a fixed-term position until 30th January 2026. The successful candidate will establish a strong relationship between the Business Growth Hub and the specific Local Authority, build trust, and understand their specific ambitions and challenges.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Being the lead point of contact between the Business Growth Hub and the Local Authority for operational activity and business support activity, providing frequent updates between both organisations.
  • Working in partnership with colleagues from specialist services to deliver Business Growth Hub activity to generate economic impact.
  • Having an awareness of Growth Company engagement with Local Authorities and working in partnership with GC divisions to ensure a coherent and integrated business support offer.
  • Managing regular meetings of advisors working in specific Local Authorities to coordinate and prioritise activity, review client activity, and monitor client engagement and economic impact.
  • Meeting regularly with Local Authorities to update them on Business Growth Hub activity, reporting quarterly on BGH performance data, adding context to the data, and being able to use data to influence future planning.
  • Producing regular update reports on activity within the Local Authority.
  • Establishing strong relationships across the Growth Company and with external stakeholders, such as private sector partners and sector organisations, to ensure that clients receive the most appropriate and holistic support available, with a specific focus on UK SPF target groups and their networks.
  • Attending events and running drop-in clinics representing BGH services, engaging with businesses, registering new clients, and referring them into Growth Hub services.

The ideal candidate will have strong account management and interpersonal skills, with the ability to demonstrate credibility with others, including understanding of issues customers face in growing their business. They will also have the ability to understand and analyse data, conduct sensitive and complex negotiations to have influence and ensure the best service is delivered, and deliver quality outcomes in a fast-paced, target-driven operational environment.

Experience in strategic relationship management and proven business development ability is essential, as is experience in managing multiple stakeholders from both private and public sectors.
