Compass Community School Athelstan is an independent specialist school providing high-quality, therapeutic and child-centred education to boys and girls from 7 to 17 years of age in Wiltshire.

We cater to children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH) and other Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Our teaching team works closely together to provide a tailored approach that meets the unique needs of each student.

The role of a Teaching Assistant at our school involves supporting students with complex and challenging behaviours. You will work closely with the teaching staff to create a safe and nurturing environment that promotes academic and personal growth.

Your responsibilities may include:
  • Supporting students during lessons and activities
  • Delivering one-to-one or small group sessions
  • Managing classroom resources and materials
  • Assisting with educational trips and visits
  • Building positive relationships with students and staff


As a member of our team, you will have access to extensive training and professional qualification opportunities. We offer a competitive salary of £25,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience, as well as a range of benefits including flexible pension options and employee benefit services.
