Job Overview

As a Head Chef at Sodexo, you will be responsible for managing the culinary operation and providing support for the production team. Your expertise and leadership skills will be essential in delivering high-quality food and beverage services to our armed forces personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the culinary operation and provide support for the production team.
  • Direct the preparation and duties of the sous chef, commis chefs, chef de parties, and other kitchen staff.
  • Arrange on and off duties for all staff and ensure a great work-life balance.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all EHO guidelines and systems and monitor sanitation practices.
  • Function menu planning and follow a set military dining menu.
  • Improvise and maximize the use of existing stocks where necessary.
  • Manage stock, oversee meal presentation, and liaise with the client for requests.
  • Work with the FOH management team to drive service excellence.
  • Ensure your team is fully trained and refreshed regularly to the client/Sodexo's standard.

Requirements:

  • NVQ level 2/3 or experience working in a busy kitchen environment.
  • IT skills, great technical communication, and Microsoft packages experience.
  • Vast knowledge of food production methods.
  • Extensive knowledge of allergens and awareness.
  • Impeccable leadership skills.
  • Ability to monitor your own performance and that of your colleagues.
  • Ability to accept criticism and work well under pressure.
  • Ability to organize your time and workload.
