Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Community Outreach Specialist. As a key member of our outreach team, you will play a vital role in supporting parents and carers of children under 5 at our children's centres.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with local communities, particularly those who are marginalized, to ensure they receive the support they need to increase opportunities and strengthen family life.
  • Provide accessible information to parents and carers, including those who are isolated or vulnerable, to empower them to make informed decisions about their lives.
  • Work closely with health visitors and other agencies to identify the needs of parents and carers and develop strategies to address these needs.
  • Organize social events and activities to bring the community together and promote a sense of belonging.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of local services and facilities to ensure that parents and carers have access to the support they need.

Requirements:

  • Experience of community and outreach work with diverse communities in an inner-city environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to empathize with parents and carers.
  • A non-judgmental approach and a commitment to safeguarding vulnerable adults and children.
  • Ability to network and build relationships with local stakeholders.
  • Fluency in Bengali is essential for this role.
