Transactional Finance Assistant

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Transactional Finance Assistant to join our team at Pets at Home Group Plc. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end Accounts Payable function, ensuring timely payment to vendors, and maintaining best practice controls to minimize risk.
About You:
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Accounts Payable, with experience working in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. You will be adaptable, able to prioritize tasks, and have excellent communication skills. Knowledge of retail and experience working in a shared-service environment is also desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the end-to-end Accounts Payable process for assigned vendors, ensuring timely payment and adherence to SLAs.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure excellent communication and service.
- Accurately enter invoices and credit notes in the SAP ECC environment, ensuring vendors are paid to term.
- Monitor and resolve parked invoices to meet supplier terms for payment on time.
- Participate in projects to drive change and efficiencies, including automation of invoices and purchase ledger workshops.
- Adhere to SLAs to ensure productivity is optimized and customer service is achieved.
- Complete statement reconciliations and resolve reconciling items to ensure accounts are paid on time.
- Continually review and report recurrent issues that cause inefficiencies or jeopardize vendor payments.
- Manage and resolve queries and overdue accounts quickly to prevent business-critical situations.
Requirements:
- Intermediate Excel skills
- SAP ECC experience is not essential but experience of a similar system would be an advantage
- Purchase Order matching and related query resolution
- Ability to work independently and as part of a large team to support colleagues
- Prioritize and manage workload to achieve best results
