About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Duty Manager to join our team at the Clifton Green SPAR store in York. As a key member of the store management team, you will be responsible for leading and motivating a team of colleagues to deliver exceptional customer service and drive sales and profitability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Store Manager in ensuring a safe, legal, and high-performing store environment.
  • Assist the Store Manager in delivering all store operations, objectives, and KPIs.
  • Manage, coach, and support colleagues to develop a motivated and empowered team.
  • Carry out performance management and absence management as required.
  • Take responsibility for occasional opening and closing of the store, colleague safety, and stock/cash security/accountability.
  • Carry out cash reconciliations, voids, and refunds, and other management tasks for till colleagues.
  • Be a role model and lead the team to provide an exceptional customer experience.
  • Work with colleagues to promote the store and engage with the local community.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Previous management or supervisor experience in a food retail or similar fast-paced operation.
