Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join our team. As a key member of our operations department, you will be responsible for delivering an effective and professional credit control service while maintaining positive relationships with our clients. Your primary goal will be to ensure timely payment of invoices by finding the most appropriate ways to communicate with clients and resolving any issues related to unpaid invoices.
The ideal candidate will have solid credit control experience gained in a professional services environment, achieving strong results. You should also have a good understanding of the full working capital cycle from time recording, work-in-progress, billing, and cash collection, including VAT and disbursements.
In this role, you will:
- Ensure compliance with the collection policy
- Liaise with partners to resolve client queries on unpaid invoices
- Meet monthly to review debt and discuss challenging areas
- Liaise directly with clients' finance teams to chase outstanding debts and keep accurate records of conversations/communications
- Assist the team in achieving monthly cash collection and debtor day targets
- Perform new client credit checks and raise concerns to the Revenue Manager
Required Skills and Qualifications:
To succeed in this role, you should have:
- A solid understanding of credit control processes and procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to build strong working relationships with managers and fee earners
- Familiarity with ARCS and Aderant systems would be advantageous
