About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Youth Support Worker to join our team in Hertfordshire. As a key member of our district teams, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of targeted prevention and early interventions, informal education opportunities, and developing the skills of young people aged 11-17.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with young people in groups of 12-25, providing support and guidance on independent living skills, emotional wellbeing, and relationships.
  • Deliver curriculum programmes, including independent living skills and emotional wellbeing, to support young people in staying away from crime and anti-social behavior.
  • Provide guidance on relationships and sexual health, and offer support in areas such as sports, outdoor learning, art & crafts, media, music, and health.
  • Work collaboratively with qualified and experienced staff to deliver a diverse range of programmes and services.

Requirements

  • Experience working with children and/or young people in a voluntary or paid capacity.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Passion for working with young people and commitment to delivering high-quality services.
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.

What We Offer

  • Opportunities for 5, 7.5, or 10 hours per week, term-time, in the evenings.
  • Permanent contract with Hertfordshire County Council.
  • Excellent training and ongoing support to develop your skills and expertise.
