About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Head of Finance to join our client, a leading Manufacturing business in East Yorkshire. As a key member of the senior leadership team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the company's financial strategy and direction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reporting to the Business Unit Director and Group Finance Director, you will be responsible for financial leadership, including forecasting, budgeting, and analyzing variations from budget.
  • You will provide ownership for financial controls, systems, processes, measures, and reporting for the business.
  • Manage and monitor the setting and adherence of policies relating to costing, estimating margin control, and pricing.
  • Actively engage with every department to ensure the highest possible standards of control over costs, cost recovery, and expenditure.
  • Manage all accounting activities, including the maintenance of ledger accounts and production of financial statements and corporate reporting.
  • Review customer quotes from a commercial perspective, through robust costing models and understanding of the levers of profitability.
  • Compile and review departmental budgets, taking into consideration actual performance, previous expenditures, estimated expenses, and income.
  • Ensure the company adheres to its regulatory responsibilities for financial accounting.
  • Prepare and maintain tax records, returns, reports, and other related materials with support from the corporate tax team.
  • Liaise with professional advisors, including bankers, auditors, tax advisors, and solicitors.
Requirements
  • Qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or ACMA.
  • Experience from the Manufacturing industry, preferably having implemented standard costing.
  • A track record of delivering digital transformation projects and working with systems.
  • Multi-site experience would be beneficial, managing across borders.
  • Either previous responsibility of being in a No.1 Finance role or ready to take this next step.
  • Strong character to influence and add value to the senior management team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Have a genuine passion, ambition, and drive, together with commercial acumen to help the company's ambitious growth plans.
  • Possess the interpersonal and leadership skills to coach and educate all staff.
What's on Offer
  • A generous starting salary in the region of £70,000 - £75,000.
  • Additional car allowance of c£7,000.
