Job Description
We are seeking a Volunteer Companionship Worker to join our team. As a befriender volunteer, you will spend time with our residents on a weekly basis, engaging in activities such as coffee mornings, walks, and outings to local cafes or libraries. You will help set up for events, prepare refreshments, and provide companionship to our residents while respecting their boundaries. With time, you will have the opportunity to develop your role and explore the local community with our residents.

Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to work independently, and have a patient and empathetic approach. A suggested estimated salary for this position is around £10-12 per hour, based on national averages for similar roles in the UK. This rate may vary depending on factors such as location and experience.

As a volunteer with Creative Support, you will receive training for your role, access to a volunteer supervisor, an induction program, and a monthly volunteer newsletter. You will also be part of an online volunteer support network group on Zoom, providing opportunities for connection and networking with other volunteers.
