About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Category Buyer to join our Procurement Team in Burton on Trent. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the strategic procurement of direct raw and processed materials, driving cost savings and improving supplier performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement category management strategies to achieve cost savings and improve supplier performance.
- Manage contract negotiations and supplier relationships to secure best-in-class commercial terms.
- Approve and onboard new suppliers, ensuring compliance with company standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive business growth and improve operational efficiency.
Requirements
- 4-5 years of procurement experience, with a focus on direct materials.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing/engineering environment, with a strong understanding of project buying.
- Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to negotiate and influence stakeholders.
- Contract management and negotiation experience, with a proven track record of achieving cost savings.
