About the Role:

Aon is seeking an experienced Accountant to join our Pensions Accounts team in Birmingham as a Senior Accountant. As part of our expert team, you will work on a range of Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution schemes, from small wind-ups to multi-billion pound schemes with complex investment arrangements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • ">
  • You will prepare Trustee Reports and Financial Documents for your portfolio of pension scheme clients, ensuring FRS102 and SORP compliance in an accurate and timely manner. You will liaise regularly with Aon specialist teams, client relationship managers, and external auditors.">
  • You will attend meetings with partners to drive forward progress, identify issues, and agree on insightful and pragmatic solutions to deliver positive outcomes for clients. You'll work closely with UK accounts team colleagues and offshore accounts teams, preparing and reviewing financial documents, and overseeing audits.">
  • You will be involved in various pension clients, from small wind-ups to large hybrid schemes with sophisticated investment strategies, bringing your expertise to deliver great results and first-class service to our clients.">
  • You will build and maintain strong relationships with teams across Aon's locations and grow Aon's reputation with third-party providers.">

Requirements:

  • ">
  • You should have experience of statutory accounts production, preferably in pensions, and be able to accurately produce accounts that meet regulatory and SORP requirements.">
  • You should enjoy working as part of a team and building positive relationships with client teams, client representatives, auditors, investment managers, and other providers.">
  • You should have a drive to be a subject matter expert in pension scheme accounts, with a high level of technical knowledge and behavioural standards, especially of regulatory and statutory requirements.">
  • You should have great communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to identify and drive forward improvements in processes to deliver fantastic client service.">
  • You should be able to manage deadlines and deliver work to a high quality as required by your manager and client deadlines.">

Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum
