Autism Support Assistant Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Autism Support Assistant to join our team at an inclusive school in Tower Hamlets. As a key member of our staff, you will work closely with qualified SEND professionals and Specialist Teachers to provide support to students with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and other Special Educational Needs (SEN).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support small groups of students and on a 1:1 basis, promoting social and emotional development.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers to develop and implement personalized learning plans for students with ASC.
  • Provide physical and personal care support to students, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Assist with educational tasks, leisure activities, and daily routines, helping students to manage their time effectively.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2:1 Psychology degree from a Top 20 UK University.
  • Previous experience working with children with SEN, particularly those with ASC.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust with students and colleagues.
  • Flexibility and adaptability, with a willingness to learn and develop new skills.
