Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and execution of strategic production plans, ensuring alignment with programme objectives and company goals.
  • Own the Manufacturing S&OP toolset & process, ensuring standard tools & process training is provided through SME's deployed in the Programmes.
  • Oversee the governance and compliance of manufacturing systems of work, ensuring consistency, compliance with company standards, and effective management of production processes utilising KPI's.
  • Set framework for the development of staff and professional standards pertaining to scheduling production & production control supporting efficient operation of core systems. Optimize resource allocation and oversee the efficient use of personnel.
  • Promote and enforce a strong safety culture, ensuring all production activities adhere to health, safety, and environmental regulations, particularly in a high-stakes nuclear safety environment.
  • Facilitate effective communication with internal and external stakeholders; including customers, regulatory bodies, and cross-functional teams, to ensure seamless production and alignment with programme requirements.
  • Oversee production schedules, manage risks and opportunities, and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and ensure timely delivery of high-quality submarine programmes.
Requirements
  • HND or Degree in Engineering, Management, or a related field.
  • Ability to develop and implement strategic plans that align with business objectives and drive operational success.
  • Significant experience managing production planning and control functions, ideally in a high-stakes or complex environment.
  • Proven record of accomplishment of leading teams, managing budgets, and driving operational efficiency.
  • Proficiency in using & implementing SAP ERP systems for production planning, scheduling, and resource management.
  • In-depth knowledge of manufacturing systems, production processes, and governance functions.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage direct and overhead budgets effectively.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and practices, particularly in a high-risk or regulated environment.
