Job Opportunity: Associate Lecturer A

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Associate Lecturer A to join our team at Birkbeck University of London. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching, administration, and assessment of the Level 5 Psychological and Developmental Issues in Childhood module from the BA Psychology for Education programme.

About the Role

The module explores the potential impact of developmental disorders, psychological disorders, and adverse experiences on children's lives and education. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to bring their knowledge, expertise, and teaching experience to enable students to complete their studies successfully.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach and assess students on the Level 5 Psychological and Developmental Issues in Childhood module
  • Prepare and deliver high-quality teaching materials and resources
  • Assess student coursework and provide feedback
  • Contribute to the development of the module and programme
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Psychology or a related field
  • Relevant teaching experience, working with adult students within the HE sector
  • Good understanding of childhood experience and mental health
  • Effective communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently
Desirable Qualifications
  • Postgraduate degree in a relevant area
  • Professional experience in Educational/Developmental/Clinical Psychology and/or working with children in a mental health context
  • Teaching qualification
