Job Title: Associate Lecturer A

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Associate Lecturer A to join our team at Birkbeck University of London.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for the preparation, teaching, administration, and assessment of the Level 5 Psychological and Developmental Issues in Childhood module from the BA Psychology for Education programme.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and deliver high-quality teaching materials and assessments
  • Lead classes and engage with students to promote learning and understanding
  • Administer and assess coursework and exams
  • Provide feedback and guidance to students
Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • A degree in Psychology
  • A good understanding of childhood experience and mental health
  • Relevant teaching experience, working with adult students within the HE sector
  • A good understanding of the needs of part-time adult learners and be able to relate well to their individual needs and engage their interest and enthusiasm
  • Demonstrably effective and engaging communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
  • The ability to work both as part of a team and independently as appropriate
  • Willing to engage in reflective practice
Desirable Qualifications

Postgraduate degree/s in a relevant area, professional experience in Educational/Developmental/Clinical Psychology and/or working with children in a mental health context, and a teaching qualification are desirable.
