About the Role
  • Key Accountabilities:
  • Develop and implement effective health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures to ensure compliance with statutory obligations.
  • Collaborate with contractors to ensure satisfactory health and safety standards align with contractual agreements, company specifications, policies, and procedures.
  • Lead site employees in adhering to company health and safety requirements, policies, and procedures, as well as those of clients.
  • Advise supervisory staff on disciplinary actions for failing to discharge safety responsibilities effectively.
  • Investigate and address safety concerns promptly.
  • Promote a positive health and safety culture across the organization.
  • Oversee the provision and maintenance of adequate welfare facilities.
  • Foster a culture of transparency through near miss reporting.
  • This role requires flexibility to work at various sites as needed, with occasional travel within the UK expected.
Requirements
  • NCRQ level 6 / NVQ level 6 / NEBOSH diploma qualification.
  • Substantial experience in the utilities sector, particularly in the power sector.
  • Desirable: prior experience working in live substations.
  • Desirable: experience with management systems and NERS Accreditation.
  • Proven track record in DNOs and IDNOs.
  • EUSR or CSCS certification in General Health and Safety.
  • Report compilation skills.
  • A valid UK driver's license with a car or car allowance is mandatory.

The estimated salary range for this position is £55,000 - £65,000 per annum, based on experience.
