Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Digital Forensics Practitioner to join our Enforcement Intelligence & Specialist Services Directorate (EISS) at the FCA. The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking digital forensic investigations, collecting and analysing digital evidence, and providing strategic direction for digital forensic techniques in the recovery, processing, and reporting of evidence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake digital forensic investigations, including the collection and analysis of digital evidence
  • Provide strategic direction for digital forensic techniques in the recovery, processing, and reporting of evidence
  • Liaise with Investigation Case Teams to ensure effective collaboration and communication
  • Build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships with colleagues and external bodies
  • Take responsibility for drafting and reviewing documents, including witness statements and technical reports
  • Attend court to give evidence as required
  • Line management responsibilities, including direct reports' development and appraisals
Requirements
  • Prior computer forensic examination experience with imaging various forms of electronic media
  • Experience with forensic tools such as FTK, Cellebrite, AXIOM, and Nuix
  • Experience in statement writing relating to the imaging work completed to a criminal court standard
  • Experience of investigations involving serious fraud or other complex financial crime
  • Ability to influence internal and external stakeholders and work constructively with decisions made by others
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, experienced in presenting technical concepts to a variety of recipients
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to form and maintain effective working relationships
  • Experience of giving evidence in court or tribunal
  • An understanding of Legal Professional Privilege (LPP) and the requirements for handling LPP material
