Digital Forensics Investigator

We are seeking a highly skilled Digital Forensics Investigator to join our team at Brackenberry Ltd. The successful candidate will be working closely with a Local Authority in Thurrock to assist with the appointment of a Digital Forensics Investigator on a 3-month contract, which is highly likely to be extended at the client's discretion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To investigate allegations of fraud, corruption, or other irregularity alleged to have been committed against the council or its partners, including jointly with other agencies.
  • To maintain the highest level of integrity and performance in delivering services to the council and partners.
  • To have a broad knowledge of employment law in relation to internal investigations and disciplinary action.
  • To attend search and seizure operations executed by the department against criminals, anywhere in the UK, providing expert advice on the correct identification and seizure of computer-related material.
  • To undertake examinations of electronic material seized in criminal investigations, including computers, mobile phones, and other devices.

Requirements:

  • Experience in using relevant tools to conduct forensic analysis of computers and mobile phones, such as EnCase, AXIOM, FTK, XWays, NUIX, Paraben, Cellebrite, or XRY.
  • Good knowledge of IT systems and terminology, able to explain their use to persons with little or no experience.
  • Relevant law enforcement-related accreditation in investigations such as ACFS, BITS, or PIP2 (Detective Foundation/Advanced) and experience.
