Bolton Terminal (Head Office)
DescriptionAbout the Role / Key Accountabilities:- Reporting to the Manager, Payroll will be responsible for performing payroll on a semi-monthly basis and ensuring accuracy of timesheets and rectifying discrepancies.
- Payroll completion for all hourly personnel within provincial and federal legislation jurisdictions, ensuring completeness, and accuracy.
- Ability to complete calculations and accruals, including source deductions, vacation accruals, and other relevant benefits.
- Verification of deductions to ensure accuracy and performing calculations of any arrears, as well as communicating with employees for any remittance requirements.
- Complete the creation of new hires, terminations, status changes, pay rate changes, and other relevant employee updates, processing approved time records and time off requests as needed.
- Supporting compliance requirements, assisting with researching legislation updates, creating and filing records of employment, and responding to Employment Insurance inquiries.
- Minimum of 5 years experience with performing payroll functions, with 2 years of experience with hourly payroll processing required.
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPC) designation is an asset, along with advanced MS Office Suite experience.
