Onyx-Conseil is seeking a seasoned Engineering Governance Specialist to join its Global Combat Air Programme/Future Combat Air System Acquisition Programme team. This exciting opportunity offers the chance to shape the future of engineering governance and make a lasting impact on the industry.

The ideal candidate will possess strong engineering governance expertise, with a proven track record of creating and implementing effective processes and frameworks. They will be responsible for supporting UK industry and International Partners in the creation, development, and deployment of parts of the Engineering Operating Framework and Governance System.

A competitive salary of approximately £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience, is offered for this role. Benefits include a comprehensive pension scheme, enhanced annual leave allowance, and access to additional perks such as flexible working and an employee assistance programme.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and develop parts of the engineering operating framework and governance system, including policies and processes for the design and development phase of the programme
  • Develop an internal assurance framework
  • Collaborate with the Airworthiness Team to support design organisation approvals and the appointment of technical roles
  • Serve as a focal point for engineering governance between the joint business entity and the UK industry Lead Systems Integrator
  • Work closely with the COO Central Engineering Governance team to share best practices and activity support
  • Lead a small team of engineers

Requirements:

  • Degree qualified in a STEM subject or equivalent relevant experience
  • Relevant experience in engineering governance on defence programmes
  • Experience in creating and applying engineering processes, tools, and approaches for creative solutions while meeting governance requirements
  • Previous experience managing a small team, task management, performance reviews, and talent management
