Job Title: Biological Technologies Lead

We are a team of passionate individuals from 15 countries, developing innovative biological technologies to sustainably control arthropods that transmit diseases and destroy crops. Our mission is to improve lives and livelihoods worldwide by addressing the growing threats posed by arthropods to human health and the global food supply.

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Team Lead to join our dynamic project dedicated to the research and development of self-limiting technologies in insects that spread disease, damage crops, and harm livestock. The successful candidate will lead a small team focused on developing transformation methods and handling techniques to streamline our strain development processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership in our R&D team to meet project objectives and company goals.
  • Guide the direction of scientific work and nurture people in small teams to meet project objectives.
  • Ensure laboratory spaces are fully compliant with required regulations and equipped to meet project needs.
  • Generate transformation methods and genetically engineered strains meeting a set target product profile.
  • Nurture people in small teams to meet project objectives.
Requirements:
  • Extensive experience in generating and interpreting data.
  • Ability to take a hands-on approach, working closely with the team and molecular and rearing development departments.
  • Experience with insect/arthropod transformation is essential.
  • MSc or PhD in a relevant discipline (e.g. entomology, biology, biochemistry).
  • Track record of scientific diligence, including valuing careful generation and recording of data.
  • Demonstrated technical, organisational, and people management abilities.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
