Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Technician to join our dynamic project team focused on advancing our self-limiting technology in insect species that are agricultural pests or vectors of disease.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining multiple insect colonies, assisting with experimental research, and contributing to the development of new processes and equipment for rearing and deploying high-quality insects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and manage insect colonies for research and experimental purposes.
  • Conduct experiments according to specified protocols to develop and test rearing equipment and processes.
  • Prepare and maintain laboratory consumables and equipment.
  • Collect, record, and analyze data to support research and development.
  • Assist with maintaining health and safety records and training staff as required.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to share knowledge, resources, and expertise.
  • Perform stock-taking and ordering tasks.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and organization of insectary areas and equipment.
Requirements
  • Educated to A-level or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in a life science industrial setting, preferably with insect rearing expertise.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Integrity and a commitment to Oxitec's values and mission.
